Discovery 2200 metal detector review

With its 180 Disc, the BH Discovery 2200 is an all-purpose detector. Even at maximum sensitivity, the auto ground balancing enables me to silently explore in all types of soils I’ve come across, including rocky terrain and wet or dry sand ocean beaches. However, it struggles with seawater.

Variety of Systems to Meet Your Needs
When inspecting bulk powders and granules in free-fall settings, our Gravity Fall metal detection systems give extremely high sensitivity to detect all metal kinds. Our metal detectors for powdered products are available with Y-Valve systems for powders and granular products, Sealtite systems for high value and dusty powders, and Open Diverter systems for non-dusty products. These devices are designed with a variety of high-speed reject devices to remove metal contaminated products from the production process.

I’ve used this detector before, and it effectively eliminated the deep ooins. For my grandson, who appears to have a genuine interest in the hobby, I recently placed an order for one. He purchased a cheap one that performs admirably considering the cost, but I don’t want him to lose heart. Since then, I’ve purchased other more expensive detectors, but aside from the pinpointer on the detector, I don’t really notice many differences.

I once used the 2200 to extract a Franklin half from a hole that was about 7 inches deep. I’ll use it if my grandson doesn’t use it often. It works well and is portable. Although I purchased all those more expensive detectors in the hopes of discovering more gold and silver, they essentially do the same tasks as the 2200.

Unlock Performance for Productivity

Gravity in Profile There are fall metal detection systems with improved performance monitoring test features available. The Automatic Test System (ATS) shortens the testing process and increases test accuracy for performance monitoring. Regular performance monitoring testing frequency is decreased by reduced test mode. Your organisation will profit from these advantages in terms of greater worker safety, increased productivity, and better compliance.

We strongly advise you to: if you have no prior experience using a metal detector.

1) In the event of erroneous alerts, lower the sensitivity setting. Always start with reduced sensitivity and work your way up once you’re comfortable with the detector. 2) Never use inside. Only use this detector outside. The electromagnetic energy that is released by many household equipment can interfere with the detector. Turn the sensitivity down and keep the search coil away from equipment like laptops, televisions, and microwaves when conducting an inside demonstration. Turn off appliances and lights, especially those with dimmer switches, if your detector sounds irregularly. Additionally, keep the search coil away from surfaces that may contain metal, such as walls and floors. 3) Study this guide. Review the Quick-Start Demo (pages 7-8) and Basic Operation most importantly (p. 9-11). 4) Only make use of 9-volt ALKALINE batteries. Avoid using heavy-duty batteries.

Discrimination mode works well, although it sacrifices 1-2 inches of depth. An air test at 2.25 in. detects a tiny children’s 10K ring. In Disc Mode, but not at all while using All Metal mode with maximum sensitivity. At 9.5 in., although at 7.5 in. in Disc. mode, a sizable men’s 10K ring is discovered. Silver quarters measure 7.5 inches and silver dimes 6.75 inches. At 8 inches, loonies and toonies can be detected. At 12 in., a 1×4 flat chunk of oxidised copper is found. A 5 lb. dumbbell weight at 16 in. is also intriguing to archaeologists. In the field, the numbers are comparable.

I discovered some little jewellery, around 3 to 4 inches. For quarter-size objects, the Visual Depth display is accurate; however, it shows 2x higher for small things and 1/2x higher for large objects. Regardless of metal content, all deep objects provide uneven Target I.D./Tone. Silver quarters and other coins have constant tones in the 4-5 in. range. My I.D./Tone is always unpredictable when I’m around oxidised iron.

I like how easy it is to operate with just one hand and a thumb touch, freeing up the other hand to utilise the digging tool. Despite what some reviewers have said, I have never had trouble changing the batteries. I often get far more battery life with the BH headphones than the 10 hours that are claimed. I haven’t been looking for another MD because of the waterproof and interchangeable coil, decent depth, and all the characteristics of the Disc. Until I concentrated on small gold.

Reduce your overall ownership costs.

Through Automatic Test System and Reduced Test modes, as well as through seamless connection with other inline processing machinery, Gravity Fall metal detection systems can reduce the total cost of ownership. Emulation technology enables operators to control the metal detector from a distance, increasing operator effectiveness and worker safety. eDriveTM also offers enhanced sensitivity to support compliance with industry standards and regulations, improve quality processes, and support operator processes.

Alternatives for Dangerous Locations

The presence of combustible materials and possibly explosive environments can be a serious source of danger in some manufacturing facilities. Our Profile Gravity Fall metal detection systems are cETLus-certified and meet the standards for Class II Division 2 / Class II Zone 21 Hazardous areas for settings at risk from potentially combustible dusts. In addition to the current ATEX & IECEx compliant metal detection systems in our offering, these solutions are available.

I’ve had mine for around 10 years, and every time I go out, I always come back with a pocket full of wheat pennies as well as more recent pennies, dimes, and quarters. Some areas of the ground are very rocky, and yards have a lot of dirt. Depending on the year and weight of the coin, coin depth significantly varies. When compared to same-year quarters, dimes are typically 3 inches deeper. Wheats are roughly 5 to 6 inches.

7 inches, 1961 penny discovered…

I have no idea how that occurred. I am often successful in finding metal in the ground, but I’m not sure if I am getting everything. For whatever reason, I have a real lack of silver in my pocket. Because I notch out iron and don’t feel like digging every square foot, there is no gold. Ground filled with iron ore and waste in central Pennsylvania.

Wheat from 1916 was the oldest coin recovered. Although I would consider this a fantastic beginner, I plan to sell it and upgrade. I’m willing to spend up to $1,000 if it means spending more time on detection. Everything depends on how much money you have to spend.

Excellent metal detector at an affordable price for beginners. Very light weight, allowing you to swing the detector for long periods of time without tiring your arm. With simple controls, 4 tones for different metals, an accurate depth measurement, and little complexity, the machine is essentially ready to use as soon as you turn it on.

A pinpoint detector is included in the box, which makes it more simpler and requires less digging to find items that are hidden. While the Bounty Hunter works quite well on dry sand, it generates a lot of false signals on wet sand. With practise, though, it should be simple to ignore these false signals and focus on the actual “prize.” This device would benefit from having headphones.
